What’s Up With Gaten’s Teeth?! 5 Celebrities With Unexpected Rare Diseases!

We start with American actor Gaten Matarazzo that you might know more as Dustin Henderson in the Netflix science-fiction drama series Stranger Things. Gaten who truned 16 in 2019 suffers from a rare genetic condition that affects one per million people called cleidocranial dysplasia which mostly affects the bones and teeth. Symptoms include missing or underdevelopped collarbones, prominent forehead, flat nose, short stature and extra teeth. Gaten is open about his condition and appears in many interviews to raise awareness about it.
Who would have guessed that Jimmy Kimmel who hosts the LATE night talk show “Jimmy kimmel live” on ABC would ironically suffer from Narcolepsy. For those of you not familiar with this rather hard-to-take-seriously disease, Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable and sudden sleep attacks during any type of activity at any time of the day. Jimmy reports that he went undiagnosed until his 30s and that his disease was a constant challenge. Kimmel said he fell asleep a few times while hosting a previous show and once while driving on the freeway and was arrested for it.
Next on the list, we find American singer and song-writer Lady Gaga who opened up about her condition in the 2017 Netflix documentary about the release of her album “Joanne”. Lady Gaga suffers from Fibromyalgia which is a disorder characterized by widespread muscle pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. It’s believed that fibromyalgia affects the way the brain processes pain signals. In a 2017 tweet, Lady Gaga said that she wishes to help raise awareness & connect people who have this condition.
In the second position is American actor and film-maker George Clooney, who was diagonsed at age 14 with a condition that affects 1 to 4 people per 10,000 each year called Bells’s Palsy and that causes facial paralysis that results in an inability to control the facial muscles on the affected side. Very unsettling for an actor. The cause of Bell’s palsy is unclear but it’s believed to be caused by infections or by the facial nerve dysfunction.
In the first position we find the texas-born american singer Selena Gomez who revealed in 2015 that she had been diagnosed with lupus: an incurable autoimmune disease that affects 1.5 million people in the US and that causes the body’s immune system to mistakenly attack healthy tissue in many parts of the body. Selena annouced via instagram that she had received a kidney transplant from actress and friend Francia Raisa because of damages caused by lupus. Without cure, Selena is being followed closely by her doctors for this life-threatening condition. What’s Up With Gaten’s Teeth?! 5 Celebrities With Unexpected Rare Diseases!
